Dog Food Recall Alert!

I wanted to share this urgent update with you about a major recall for a LARGE number of different dog foods.

I’m also pleased to announce that the company that I recommend you consider getting your dog food from, Healthy Pet Net, was NOT affected by this recall.

Watch this video to see if your dog’s food has been recalled.  I’d hate to have something happen because you didn’t know.

  2. Thank You soooooo much for this alert about dog food.
I appreciate your e-mails for my Pekeingese Doggie. Love her. She has a behavior problem with my 2 cats. She chases them and pulls fur from them. They literly live on my counter tops in my kitchen. I have to feed them there also. I would like to get your books on training dogs but financially I cannot at this time. I just had my leg amputated and having a difficult time. Getting rid of my dog and 2 kittys are out of the question.
Thank You again for the alert and I look forward in reading your e-mails that you send.

    Sincerely,
    Susanne Lewis

Please post the list from the FDA on the companies that have had recalls on their dog food. Maybe make it available for down load from here(your web site). Thank you keep up the good work.

Yep! It happened to be the dog food that I gave to my little one. Sent Shorty to the vet and he’s fine now. Trying to get compensation for this. Been very stressful.

Hi Linda, My dogs got severely ill a couple years ago, from eating Kirkland Dog Food, made by Diamond. One of my dogs died from it. I spent a fortune getting the rest of my dogs well. The “veterinarian” for Kirkland refused to acknowledge any wrong doing. I even contacted the FDA who investigated them, until a larger case of salmonella poisoning took priority, and my case was dropped by the FDA. It is so upsetting that these companies will do nothing to compensate people who have suffered from tainted dog food.

I don’t have 8 minutes to watch a video. For me, a written list would suffice.

completely agree, though if you want to be safe then i guess it is worth it! Let’s all hope nothing serious happens to all the wonderful dogs in the world! Thank You Chet! But if someone can give a written list of dog food recalls that would be great!

I bought dry Kirkland brand food for my three, 2 scotties and 1 airedale in February. All three or my dogs became ill within 6 to 8 hrs of eating this product. I contacted Costco and reported this with all the details from my vet and so forth. I was told by the Costco “Vet” that dogs did not get simonilla. they told me they would check this out and be back to me within 24 hrs. I have never heard back from them. My dogs survived. I threw away all but a small plactic bag (as a sample) of the food. They did not let me know that we sere possibly in danger as well as our dogs.

thank you I will be trying a different dog food I did buy the 4th health for my dog and this is his food he has been eating off and on so when I put it down for him last Friday he took a sniff of it and walked away. When he walks away then I pretty much know there will be no more eating this because this is the way he is with a lot of the dog food dry and moist. and the recall came out and just maybe he knew it was taint. I’m so glad he did not eat it. thank you for letting everyone out there with pets what is going on with this food we hope the food that we buy is safe but I guess we are never safe no matter what store we buy from. I have passed this on to a lot of my friends and family who are pet owners. and I purchaed this food from Tractor supply which I will be returning.

Taste of The Wild….Never again! Thank you for the very important information. I will be taking my dog to the vet >_< I got him the salmon one to I'm seriously worried now. This makes me wonder if the food could have given him bladder stones/ urinary infection. Because ever since I have been feeding him Taste of the wild he has had some random health issues. (bladder stones/urinary infection. Diarrhea and he threw up twice.Even after 30 mins of digesting I took him for a walk and he threw up.) I was waiting on a urine culture to see if its his diet but forget that I'm just going to throw this crappy food away.

My American Bull is on TOTW and is fine. I am changing her to Performatrin Ultra. She has a sensitive belly so I am doing it slowly. As for TOTW—Goodbye. She seems to really like the new food. Thanks for the warning.

The company is stating that this is a voluntary recall being done as a precaution, and that there have been no illnesses due to their food. They further said that salmonella MAY have been in their South Carolina facility.

    Is this not true?

I would hope that a major company would not lie about something like this.

I have also been told that salmonella does not affect animals in the same way that it does humans.

I thought that one type of Wellness (large puppy) was on the list, which I got from another source. However, when I looked at the FDA formal list, Wellness was not listed for dogs. I also looked in Lotus for my cats. That also was not on the list. Thanks for the information (especially the address for the FDA recall list).

I would not have been aware of a dog food recall but for your alert. Thank you! I have been feeding my dogs “Taste of the Wild” in the belief that I was providing them with the best possible nutrition. Luckily none of my pets have been affected but I’m not taking any chances. They’ll be switching to a safe brand immediately.

thanks for the update. I’m going to make checking the FDA list a regular habit. I have many dogs that are all so dear to my heart–it’s hard enough when then pass on due to natural reasons–but unbearable to think it was due to their food being tainted.
